Although people should be aware of the consequences of climate change, there are still those who continue undeterred, who deny the whole thing, who ignore climate protection efforts, who deliberately Christian Stöcker, Prof. Dr. phil, born in 1973, heads the Master's programme in Digital Communication at HAW Hamburg and several research projects dealing with questions of the interaction between digital media technology and the public sphere. Prior to that, he worked for over 11 years in the editorial department of SPIEGEL ONLINE, initially as an editor in the science and online departments and, since the beginning of 2011, as head of the online department. Stöcker studied psychology (diploma) in Würzburg and Bristol and obtained a degree in theatre, film and television criticism from the Bavarian Theatre Academy in Munich. In 2003, he received his doctorate in cognitive psychology in Würzburg. He is a member of the jury for the German Computer Game Award. In September 2010, he was awarded the German Psychological Association's biennial prize for science journalism. Since October 2016, his column Der Rationalist (The Rationalist) has appeared every Sunday on SPIEGEL ONLINE.
He is also the author of the book ‘Männer, die die Welt verbrennen’ (Men Who Burn the World).
