The European Union has ambitious climate targets – and hydrogen will play a key role in achieving climate neutrality by 2050, particularly in hard-to-decarbonize sectors such as steel, cement, heavy goods traffic and aviation. Gradually replacing fossil fuels in energy-intensive industries and the transport sector requires renewable and low-carbon hydrogen, as well as its derivatives.
A successful expansion of the hydrogen economy hinges on concrete hydrogen projects, a stable regulatory framework, decreasing costs and well-functioning market dynamics. Only under these conditions does the EU have a realistic chance of achieving its ambitious goal of producing ten million metric tons of renewable hydrogen by 2030 and every year thereafter.
In the latest edition of our ees Europe Exhibition Magazine, discover which political measures could further accelerate the hydrogen ramp-up, learn about exemplary hydrogen projects and find out how the reorganized Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo exhibition segment positions itself at ees Europe. The Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo, which will take place from June 23–25, 2026 provides a strong international stage for companies and their hydrogen projects.
