ees Innovation Hub: Community, Networking and Presentations

Hall B0

The ees Innovation Hub networks the energy storage industry under the motto: Research meets Industry

Projects and products relating to energy storage will be presented in an attractive environment together with research institutes, start-ups and international companies. In addition, the ees Innovation Hub Stage offers a varied program on all three days of the exhibition on innovations from areas such as battery technologies, AI in battery research, recycling, energy storage systems, a self-sufficient energy system presented as part of the ees Island Challenge, as well as industry pitches.

ees Island Challenge at the ees Innovation Hub

At the ees Island Challenge, two interdisciplinary teams from RWTH Aachen University and the Helmholtz Institute Berlin will compete against each other. Their task is to design a self-sufficient energy system to supply the space habitat FLEXhab at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) site in Cologne.

FLEXHab is a space-camping container and can accommodate up to four astronauts who live and work there during a simulated lunar mission. It is intended to function as a containerized energy “island”: operating independently from the grid, while at the same time being safely and interoperably connected to the local power grid.

Visitors and exhibitors can follow the progress of both teams in Hall B0 at Booth B0.160 and attend the subsequent presentation of the results on the Innovation Hub Stage in Hall B0.
