Two Major Events, One City – Book Your Hotel in Good Time!

Munich is a host to the European Football Championship at the same time as The smarter E Europe 2024

Are we going to succeed? This is a question everyone will be asking in Munich next year: Exhibitors and visitors to The smarter E Europe 2024 will be wondering if we will manage to integrate all the renewable electricity into our energy system, and football fans will be rooting for their team at the UEFA Euro 2024.

Next June, there will be two reasons for traveling to Munich: The smarter E Europe from June 19–21, 2024, and a total of six European Football Championship matches to be held at the FC Bayern Munich stadium between June 14 and July 9.

  • June 14, June 17, June 20 and June 25: Preliminary round matches
  • July 2: Round of 16
  • July 9: Semifinals

It's going to be really busy in and around Munich, so please be sure to plan your stay early and book your accommodation as soon as possible.

Why does The smarter E Europe 2024 take place at the same time as the UEFA Euro?

For a major event like The smarter E Europe, the dates have to be set years in advance. The smarter E Europe is guest event at the Munich Exhibition Center and needs the entire grounds, including the ICM (International Congress Center) – and not just for the duration of the event, but also for set-up and dismantling periods, i.e. around two weeks.

The exhibition center in Munich is in great demand and booked out for years, so the dates for The smarter E Europe had to be set and booked very early with Messe München.

At the time of booking the exhibition center for 2024, it was not yet known that European Championship matches would be taking place in Munich at the same time. A postponement at short notice is not possible, as there are no free dates for an event of this dimension.
