This year’s Intersolar Forum is all about system integration: The hot topics presented at the exhibition forum show how solar energy can unlock its full potential in tomorrow’s renewable-powered electricity system when integrated with other technologies. The Intersolar Forum will be located in hall A3, booth A3.150.
Tuesday’ program kicks off with the session PV-Plus-Storage with Fleet Management for Industry And Commerce – a Smart Combination from 10:15am–11:45am. The session will explore how commercial and industrial players can combine these components to cut energy costs and which technical solutions and suitable products are already available on the market. The program continues with the session Grid-Forming Inverters – the Key to Stable Power Grids, taking place from 12:00pm–1:00pm. Renowned manufacturers will explain why these frequency converters, in combination with PV and BESS, form the backbone of a stable power grid with an increasing share of renewable energy, and how they can provide system services such as black starts and frequency stabilization. How can PV electricity be used for heating? This question will be addressed in the session titled Power-to-Heat – Coupling Electricity and Heating, which will focus on the combination of photovoltaics, battery storage systems and infrared heaters, taking place from 1:30pm–3:00pm.
Wednesday continues the focus on profitable combinations. The session Co-Location of Solar and Storage: a True Win-Win Solution, organized by SolarPower Europe, will explore hybrid power plants from 10:15am–11:45am. It will feature practical examples from project developers of co-location projects already being implemented across Europe. In the afternoon, from 1:30pm–3.00pm, the program continues with the PV Briefing & Networking Forum Europe, with talks covering all aspects of PV, including forecasts for the most important European solar markets, technological innovations, current market trends and tried-and-tested business models. Wednesday’s program will conclude with the presentation of the EUPD Research Installer Award from 5:00pm–6:00pm, held as part of a networking reception.
On Thursday, from 10:15am-11:45am, the German Solar Energy Society (DGS) will dedicate its session to the topic of Solar Panels in Commerce and Industry. To round things off, the forum’s final session Innovations in Solar Thermal: From Technology to Application will shine a spotlight on innovations in solar thermal technology. From 1:30pm–2:30pm, companies will present their practical examples and applications from Germany, Europe and Mexico.
