Melina Graner is a researcher at the Chair of Electrical Energy Storage Technology (EES) under Professor Jossen at the Technical University of Munich. Her research focuses on the intelligent control and optimization of modular battery energy storage systems. She specializes in aging-aware operation and predictive control by integrating battery modelling, optimization algorithms, and forecasting methods to develop adaptive energy management strategies.Her work aims to extend battery lifetime, improve operational efficiency, and enhance system flexibility, contributing to the development of next-generation energy storage solutions.Melina holds dual master's degrees in engineering and economics from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. Before joining the research domain, she spent two years in the power, oil, and gas industry.

Andreas Pesl is a recognized expert in energy storage systems. As Head of Energy Storage Systems, he is responsible for the development, validation and industrialisation of energy storage solutions throughout their entire lifecycle. His technical focus lies on the development and testing of LV, MV and HV battery systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), as well as pre-series applications, prototype realisation, series development, maintenance, repair and second-life applications.With 16 years of professional experience, Andreas Pesl and his team oversee complex technology projects from the concept phase through to series and support customers in the successful implementation of robust and sustainable energy storage solutions. His career path has taken him from electrical engineer through project and team lead roles to department head, enabling him today to combine technological excellence with strategic, organisational and operational leadership skills.

Michael Lippert is currently in charge of innovation and market strategy for Saft's Energy Storage Systems (ESS) Division at the company's headquarters near Paris. He is also Vice-President of the 'Energy Storage Europe Association' (formerly EASE), as well as Chairman of the 'Batteries European Partnership Association' (BEPA), both in Brussels. Michael holds a degree in European Business Studies in France and Germany and has been working for more than 35 years in different international sales and marketing positions at Saft for Railway, Mobility and Stationary markets. He has played a major role in establishing Saft's market position in Li-ion battery technology for renewable energy and smart grids since 2010. In parallel, he contributed to the development of EASE since its foundation in 2011. In the frame of the European Battery Alliance (EBA), Michael was elected Chairman of the first European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP) for Batteries in 2019. Since 2020 Michael is also the elected Chairman of the Executive Board of BEPA, the Battery Partnership Association which is driving and coordinating R&I activities within the Batt4EU partnership with the European Commission, under the Horizon Europe Programme.
