In Germany, more than 60 per cent of the population lives in apartment buildings – one of the highest shares in the EU. There are around 3.3 million multi-family buildings nationwide. At the same time, about a quarter of Germany’s total final energy consumption – roughly 630 TWh in 2022 – is attributable to private households. The potential of apartment buildings and their residents to make a decisive contribution to the success of the energy transition is enormous.
But how can this potential be unlocked? We talk about this with Axel Hoffmann, Market Manager at Hager Vertriebsgesellschaft.
