Time
10:00 am - 11:30 am
Hall
Messe München
Room
Hall B6, Room B61

This training hosted by the SUPERNOVA project, will cover state-of-the-art methods for solar power and irradiance forecasting

The SUPERNOVA Project aims to enhance the operation, maintenance, and grid-friendly design of solar PV plants through advanced software solutions for the planning, design, and operation of PV systems. By integrating interoperable digital platforms, AI-driven tools, and data-sharing approaches, SUPERNOVA seeks to enable more efficient management of complex PV assets and support a more flexible and resilient energy system.

Within this context, this training session, led by CSEM, will provide a comprehensive overview of advanced forecasting approaches for the PV industry, combining a neutral, research-driven perspective with practical insights from energy traders, asset operators, and other industry stakeholders.

The session will cover state-of-the-art methods for solar power and irradiance forecasting, alongside emerging forecasting applications relevant for energy markets, including interzonal congestion prediction. Particular emphasis will be placed on how probabilistic forecasts can support operational and trading decisions, improve grid integration, and help reduce imbalance costs.

Industry contributors will complement the technical content by sharing real-world use cases and operational experience from large-scale PV and energy market environments.
