Electromobility is booming and bursting with innovations. The same has been true for the photovoltaic and solar industries since before yesterday. While the Intersolar AWARD, the innovation award for the solar industry has been presented annually since 2008, the Power2Drive AWARD is celebrating its premiere this year. But what innovations are there to marvel at this year in concrete terms? What trends are emerging? And what about the integration of PV and e-mobility? The two jury members Markus Emmert, Chairman of the Bundesverband eMobilität and Prof. Dr. Michael Powalla, Member of the Board of the Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg ZSW, will tell us.

Markus Emmert is a corporate, municipal and political consultant (energy, environment and electromobility). His experience of over 20 years in the field of renewable energies, his scientific work in the field of electrical engineering (eMSR, ICT and BI), as well as his various inventions, patents, utility models and their developments make him one of the leading experts in this field.
The Bundesverband eMobilität is an association of companies, institutions, researchers and users of the New Mobility who are committed to converting mobility based on renewable energies to electric mobility.
Michael Powalla has been head of the photovoltaics division at ZSW Stuttgart as a member of the board since 2008. He previously worked as a scientific employee in the Photovoltaics: Materials Research department, which he took over as head in 1999. Since 2010, he has also been a professor of thin-film photovoltaics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Light Technology Institute, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. From 2007 to 2011, he was managing director of Würth Elektronik Research GmbH.
Today, the ZSW is established as one of Europe's leading energy research institutes with around 350 employees plus 100 student and research assistants. Joint ventures and the growing share of industrial contracts demonstrate the consistent proximity to applications.
