Room
East Entrance, Utility Lounge

Our Utility Peer Exchanges are interactive small-group discussions aimed exclusively at utilities. Each session starts with a short, experience-based impulse presentation, followed by an open exchange on practical challenges, lessons learned, and what works in real-world operations. The focus is on honest, peer-to-peer dialogue rather than formal presentations.
In this Utility Peer Exchange, the discussion will focus on how demand-side flexibility can be used to manage grid congestion. Grid congestion is no longer an exception but a daily operational reality for many system operators. Mark Nigge-Uricher from Alliander will share how demand-side flexibility is being integrated into grid operations to manage constraints while maintaining reliable service for customers. The session will highlight practical experiences, including what works in implementation, where challenges remain, and how flexibility can be scaled effectively.
