With over 108 gigawatts, photovoltaics has achieved half of the statutory expansion target for 2030, and battery storage expansion has recently made encouraging progress. More than 2 million battery storage systems with a capacity of over 20 gigawatt hours are now in operation in Germany. However, regulatory uncertainties in connection with the recently published 10-point plan by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Katherina Reiche, as well as a reform backlog not only in terms of access to the power grid, are increasingly causing planning uncertainty and clouding the business situation in large parts of the industry.
In addition, the successes achieved in recent years have been accompanied by growing responsibility for the overall system. In order to fulfill this role, politicians and regulators must now set the course for photovoltaics and battery storage to be able to play to their strengths for the electricity market and system stability in the future.
In a webinar hosted by The smarter E Europe, experts from the German Solar Industry Association will shed light on current political developments and market trends: from the current attack on subsidies for building photovoltaics, to the monitoring report and its recommendations for policymakers, to market operations and the multi-use of PV with storage systems. The free webinar, with its report from the political arena in Berlin, will make a substantial contribution to a better assessment of the current energy policy climate in Berlin and a better evaluation of the business risks in the coming months and years.
During the webinar participants can submit their questions to get them answered by the experts in the live Q&A. In addition, both the recording and the speakers' presentations will be made available on our digital content platform The smarter E Digital after the webinar.
