Power2Drive Europe and CharIN Form Partnership

Press Release – Wednesday, March 04, 2026

Power2Drive Europe, the international exhibition for charging infrastructure and e-mobility, and CharIN, the leading global association for EV charging standards with over 300 member companies have formed an exclusive, strategic partnership. Their goal is to strengthen the collaboration between industry, associations and experts in charging infrastructure and electric vehicles. Both partners benefit from the in-depth exchange of expertise, as well as from CharIN’s strong presence at Power2Drive Europe. The next Power2Drive Europe will take place from June 23–25, 2026 in Munich as part of The smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry.

CharIN (Charging Interface Initiative) is an international association that focuses on advancing areas such as CCS (Combined Charging System), charging connection, charging communication, grid integration and energy, providing a central platform for developing and regulating standards for charging infrastxructure. It unites countless renowned companies along the entire value chain, from automobile manufacturers and charging infrastructure suppliers to energy companies and technology providers.

The partnership includes CharIN’s participation at the Power2Drive Forum, as well as close collaboration on publications and other communications activities. A key component is the meeting of the CharIN Steering Committee’s 17 members as part of an all-day workshop at Power2Drive, bringing together charging infrastructure operators (CPOs) and representatives from test labs and the automotive, charging infrastructure and software industries. The goal is to increase the visibility of important topics and technological developments and to encourage knowledge transfer within the industry.

Michael Keller, CTO of CharIN, and Joel Wenske, Project Manager of Power2Drive Europe, agree on the partnership

“At CharIN, collaboration is the foundation of innovation. This supporting partnership and shared booth with our members highlight our collective commitment to open standards, interoperability, and shaping the future of the industry together”, says Michael Keller, CTO of CharIN and CEO of CharIN Academy. Joel Wenske, project manager of Power2Drive Europe, emphasizes the collaboration’s strategic value: “CharIN is one of the most important global players in charging infrastructure. With this partnership, we are creating a strong platform to bring technological developments, standardization and market practices closer together.”

The collaboration demonstrates the commitment of Power2Drive Europe and CharIN to becoming central thought leaders for the further development of charging infrastructure and vehicle technology in Europe and globally.
