With approximately $11 billion in international tenders each year, World Bank Group (WBG) projects open up numerous business opportunities for German companies-particularly in the field of renewable energy, one of the most important sectors for German suppliers in WBG-financed projects.
Last year, the WBG reformed its procurement processes. Changes such as the strong emphasis on quality criteria and the expansion of market dialogue prior to tenders improve the competitive conditions for companies offering technical excellence and sustainable solutions. This opens up new opportunities for German suppliers.
The roundtable offers the opportunity for direct exchange with the head of the WBG's global water portfolio and procurement experts. During the event, WBG experts will explain how companies can participate in tenders, what specific requirements apply, and what market opportunities are emerging in the sector. At the same time, the event provides a forum to discuss industry trends and innovations with WBG experts and incorporate them into project design.
The roundtable is organized by the Agency for Economy & Development (AWE), the German Solar Industry Association (BSW Solar), and the WBG's Berlin office. The event will be conducted in English.
