This guided tour provides practical insights into how utilities can technically modernize and digitalize their distribution networks to meet the requirements of the energy transition. The focus is on holistic solutions for high performance, future proof distribution grids - ranging from medium- and low voltage networks to protection, control, and automation technology, as well as the integration of decentralized generation, storage systems, and microgrids. Another key aspect is the digitalization of existing local distribution substations using retrofittable measurement and analysis systems that enhance transparency and enable data driven decision making in grid operations. At the tour stops, ABB AG, Janitza electronics GmbH, and Hitachi Energy Ltd. will present their technologies. The tour will be conducted in German and will conclude at the special exhibition Renewables 24/7 in Hall C5.
