DESCRIPTION:The energy transition in Germany is technically feasible and economically sound. Nevertheless\, public debate is often shaped more negatively than necessary by political misjudgments\, insufficient infrastructure\, and media narratives. While solutions for a 24/7 renewable energy system already exist\, key elements such as grid expansion\, energy storage integration\, cross-sector coordination\, and market-based incentives have not yet been implemented to a sufficient extent. As part of the special exhibition 'Renewables 24/7 - Secure Energy for a Changing World' at The smarter E Europe 2026\, we aim to highlight this gap and discuss how a fully renewable energy system can become not only technically viable\, but also socially acceptable and effectively communicated to the public. This panel session brings together perspectives from academia\, media\, and politics. The objective is to clearly communicate the real technological options available\, provide context for complex issues in a way that is accessible to the public\, and generate momentum for a constructive\, fact-based public discourse on the energy transition.
