About EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG
With over 26,000 employees, we, EnBW, are one of the "big" energy suppliers in Germany. Our roots are in Baden-Württemberg. We supply around 5.5 million people with electricity, gas, water and offer services and products that assist people in their daily lives, for example solar energy and storage or e-mobility. We support the energy transition. And for the climate, we are working to reduce our CO2 emissions noticeably. We want to halve them by 2030 and be climate neutral by 2035.
Since 2008, we have been planning, building and operating ground-mounted solar plants. Whether with or without subsidies - we are familiar with every step of the process until a solar park is up and running. We are happy to work together with others, such as project developers, landowners or public utilities. We buy and sell solar power, on the market or via long-term power supply contracts - so-called Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
By the end of 2021, around 500 megawatts of photovoltaics were in our portfolio. This includes Germany's largest solar park "Weesow-Willmersdorf" in Werneuchen, Brandenburg. With 187 megawatts peak capacity, it can supply up to 50,000 households. Two more large solar parks, each with 150 megawatts, went into operation in Brandenburg at the end of March. By 2025, we want to have 1,200 megawatts of solar energy in our generation. By the end of 2025, half of our generation should consist of renewable energies - currently we are at 40,1 per cent.
