For more than 10 years, the UN has made "rural electrification" a global goal for human development. Now would be time to review different approaches on how to electrify people. In this session, sustainable examples of successful projects will be presented. The projects started more than 5 years ago and are still going strong. Together we will take a look at the success factors and the replication potential.

Morgan is currently in charge of managing and coordinating the operation and technical teams in 5 African countries where Power Corner has mini-grids under-operation. She started her experience with Power Corner in Tanzania as operational manager. After developing process and procedure based on her experience in Tanzania, she is now ensuring their deployment and implementation in the new countries. Her main objective for this year is improving Health, Safety & Environment process and working on deployment of automatization maintenance for the mini-grids. Morgan is graduated in General Engineering from Alès Mines Engineering School in France and has been working for more than 12 years in various technical management area in African and South American countries.

Benjamin is currently in charge of managing and coordinating the development, operation and technical teams in 5 African countries where Engie Energy Access has mini-grids under-operation. He started his experience with Power Corner as operational manager at global level in 2018 with the first development of Power Corner in Tanzania. He worked on the development on all our pilot sites in new countries. He drives complete project execution from pre-engineering to handover, procurement and contracting strategy, leads overall operations and is responsible for Health, Safety & Environment and security for minigrids. Benjamin is graduated in General Engineering from Centrale-Supelec Engineering School in France and has been working for more than 14 years in operational and technical area in Africa and Asia first on oil&gas and then in minigrids.

Bärbel Höhn is a German politician for Alliance '90/The Greens. Ms. Höhn became State Minister for Environment and Agriculture in North Rhine-Westphalia from 1995 to 2005. In 2005 she was elected to the Bundestag in the 2005 national elections. She first served as chairwoman of the Committee on Committee on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection from 2005 to 2006. Between 2006 and 2013 she was vice chairwoman of the Green parliamentary group in the Bundestag, and as such responsible for the issues of energy, climate, environment, transport, agriculture, nature conservation and construction. From 2014. Bärbel Höhn served as chairwoman of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Having participated in various UN Climate Change conferences, she was a regular speaker at international climate and energy conventions. Since November 2017, Bärbel Höhn has been acting as unpaid Special Representative for Energy in Africa for the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. She plays a special role in this regard to promote the Green People's Energy initiative with their many years of political experience and expertise in citizen-based renewable energy.
